Our Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon Balls take everything about this much-loved fibre, but transform it into a user-friendly shape! No longer will you have the hassle of a skein that tangles, knots, and requires extra labour/tools to use. We’re sacrificing storage space in our warehouse to bring you this important fibre in its more usable form because we believe that tangle-free creation is far more motivating.

Sari silk ribbon is a sustainable, zero-waste, and reduced-impact fibre–which makes it a hero in our books! These ribbon balls are made from repurposed sari scraps which are sewn and knotted together. The ends of sari garments (which would otherwise be headed for landfills) are recuperated, cut, and connected to create one continuous ribbon.

Beautiful textural elements, charismatic frizzy edges, and non-uniform colour inflections give these ribbons a brilliant aesthetic depth. Sari silk is quite opaque and has a characteristic sheen. The intention and appeal of this fibre is in its non-uniformity. Each ball (and each section ribbon) will vary from the last and often include some surprise elements: like pops of gold threading, print, and differently-coloured stitching. While each ball is stitched into a continuous ribbon, please note that in some instances, stitching can come undone and sections of ribbon will separate.
