“THIS SWAN’S FOR YOU” METAL HOOK

As a macrame maker, I create a lot of macrame hanging planters. These are popular in my shop and at markets.

The problem I kept identifying was that good quality hardware for macrame plant hangers was virtually nonexistent: wooden hoops break constantly, which has amounted to wasted time, effort and materials. Metal hooks sold in many craft stores are not durable enough to hold the weight of a plant hanger—these too have split open on me, and I’ve even had to offer refunds for customers whose hooks have broken during shipping because they’re cheaply mass produced.

The other gap I was finding was that hardware for plant hangers was only available in either an open S hook (which is risky to use because the cotton could easily slide off) or a closed hoop (which doesn’t offer the possibility of hanging a plant hanger from a curtain rod as so many of my customers were wishing to do).

MATERIALS AND SIZING:

These are made of sturdy industrial steel with a diameter is 1/8th of an inch.

The hoop’s diameter is approximately 3″ and the hook is 1.5″ at its widest point. The hook is designed to fit perfectly onto macrame racks (for ease of creation) and onto most curtain rods (for display purposes).
